On the 9th of November, our running club had an incredible City Run through the vibrant streets of Amsterdam. Led by our energetic host, Jack Donnellan, we covered an iconic 7 km route that showcased some of the most beautiful and lively parts of the city. Despite the chilly November morning, the excitement was palpable as our group of 11 enthusiastic members gathered, ready to take on the run and experience Amsterdam in a whole new way.
Starting Strong in Vondelpark
We kicked off our City Run at the entrance of Vondelpark, one of Amsterdam's most beloved green spaces. The fresh morning air and the golden autumn leaves set the scene perfectly. As we ran along the winding paths, we spotted locals cycling, people walking their dogs, and other runners getting their weekend workout in.
Vondelpark is known for its tranquil beauty, and it served as the ideal warm-up stretch for our group. The park's wide, tree-lined paths allowed us to get into a comfortable rhythm, and the energy of running together as a club made every step feel effortless. The sounds of the city slowly faded away, replaced by the rustling leaves and the occasional splash of water from the park’s ponds.
